Is It Good / Bad Thing To Be Ambitious?
Ambition is a fine thing; it’s what drives us to complete tasks, excel at things and even to try new endeavors. But if you feel that depression will result if you don’t succeed, then ambition is controlling you. You should love yourself and be loved, whether you succeed or fail.
If you’re sincerely ambitious about learning first, that’ll help you more. The measurement of success should not be what others want or what you think they do. It should come from reflection, from the investigation into what you want, an evaluation of what skills and talents you have, and ultimately, what YOU want, not anyone else.
As said in Sanskrit ‘Ati Sarvatra Varjayet’ ( Excess of anything is bad). In the same breath, being over ambitious will take a toll upon your mental peace and social life. Being over ambitious will make you blind to the common and simple joys of life. Remember that the ultimate goal of life is to be happy. Being ‘over’ ambitious will always keep you unhappy because you will never be satisfied with the present and will not live in the ‘here-now’.
But we should not forget that ambition is not the ultimate goal of life or one person can have only one ambition.
Especially, during teenage, we are not very clear about what we want to become in the future, but even in that condition, we can be ambitious. We can set an ambition of learning certain things in summer or losing weight etc. etc. What I mean to say its ok to not know what to do in life but it's not ok to do nothing until we know what to do in life. Until then, we can set small ambition and accomplish them. Because every journey not only makes us academically better but also polishes our skills and thought a process which is the more important than the intellectual knowledge.
That one big ambition is like finding that one love of life, to get one, you date a hundred. And out of all the jobs you did, you will find your passion in any one of them and eureka! you got you ambition. So, these small ambition can also help you find your passion.
And if you already know what your passion is, constantly move towards it. No matter how slow, but once you got it, start living it.
And if we talk about Education is much more about gaining knowledge than grades. You can’t always say “Oh yeah! I’ll nail it this time and get an A+!”. You can’t just motivate yourself 100 times and not do work.
Motivate yourself 100 times but also work 100 times as harder!
The outcome of your exam is not in your hand, so don’t even fu#king care about it.
The effort that you’ll put in, is 101% in your control! Dominate that!
No one can stop you from working hard. And working hard will ensure, you get that A+ you want so bad!
You see they are directly proportional!
You see they are directly proportional!
The harder you work, the better grade you’ll get!
And if we are truly passionate and ambitious about something, we won’t stop, irrespective of the failures that may come in.
Think about Steve Jobs! He was so passionate about everyone having a personal computer at home.
He failed a lot, and the general public mocked at the idea of having a large calculator like thing that prints the output in a TV screen.
He failed a lot, and the general public mocked at the idea of having a large calculator like thing that prints the output in a TV screen.
Imagine what would have happened if he gave up and lost hope after that, there would be no Apple today!
So all in all,
Work harder, learn to the very root of the topic.
Have a crystal clear understanding of whatever you study.
