How To Control Negative Thoughts, Emotions And Behaviour?
A common problem faced by most People these days!
Negative thinking is not just a momentary problem, but it has turned out to be a habit for most of us due to the superfast lifestyle and necessity to prove oneself/stand out in the crowd. Now whats the solution?? Simple... treat it as another habit which you want to change!
1—Choose to be positive. The very first step to getting rid of negative thoughts is by deciding that, you, opt to be positive. It’s incredibly difficult to change, you will find yourself default to negative thoughts, but when you do, remind yourself of the decision you’ve made. Acknowledge that you have the ability to define yourself.
2—Read more. You may be asking, “how reading makes me positive?” Reading doesn’t directly transform you into a positive person, but reading expands your mind. It shows you wider range your perspectives, so you don’t trap yourself in your own mind.
3—Do something. I filled my mind with negative thoughts because I was in a bad position. My life sucks and I hated it so much. The thing is, it won’t change unless I start taking action to change it. If you want to learn a skill (like I want to learn about writing), you may have self-doubts just like I do. The best solution is not sitting alone and think about what if or watching motivational videos to push yourself. The best solution is to start practice because a positive mindset and real motivation is learned from the feedback you gained from your action.
4—Build your environment. Get rid of negative people around you and start hanging out with positive people. Organize your room, make your bed, stay neat. Our environment shapes our emotions, thoughts, and beliefs. Design an environment that helps you get what you want.
5—Practice appreciation. Acknowledge how lucky you are to be here—to born as a human but not a chicken, to have access to the internet, and to have the ability to read. Start appreciating the people and the things around you, and you will get out from negative thoughts immediately.
Whenever you find yourself thinking of something negative, try to substitute it with something better and positive.
For example: While the start to think of how badly you were treated by your friends who meant the world to you, think of what all beautiful things you did or someone else did to you.
Enjoy: Do not get caught up in between the negativity. Go out, have fun. Meet new people, help others, hold a hand, smile at a baby, donate a pair of new clothes, tell someone you trust them, click a picture, smile at nature, swim, take a cold shower but for god’s sake, enjoy your life.
