How to cure serious smart phone addiction.

Smartphone addiction - now its been coined a new term “Nomophobia” - which simply means you are in a state of fear whenever you are not using or not near your smartphone.

Yes - It's a kinda of Disorder and majority of our young generation is getting ready to suffer from it in future.
Primarily there can be multiple remedies to it, you have to work out the best that works for you.
  • If you want to start and keep it simple - try to keep your phone at-least 10 meters away from you - slowly this becomes a habit and eventually you spent less time on your phone.
  • A Problem is not resolved completely until you know the problem completely, so to know how much addict you are, you need to know the numbers, addictive apps, your timing of usage, your phone unlock counts etc, for that You can install small apps like YourHour. App to assist you do all this in most easy manner and remind you everyday about your usage to monitor your progress over a period of time.
  • Try to Go-Green, get a walk without your phone, try to run without your phone, you would be shocked to believe then that earth revolves properly around the sun and things move same way even without you keeping the phone all-time.
  • Let it get discharged and eventually shut down for some timemethe, world would still be the same for you.
  • Try to apply simple solutions first, they works more often, its just that we overlook them mostly.

There has been a paradigm shift in the lives of people in recent times. The things we are talking about here are regarding the technological advances which have made us completely dependent on digital innovations in one way or the other. Cell phone is now something which is the most readily available device out there in the market and it has become a portable machine not just for phone calls but for any mundane purposes like calculations, taking a photograph and stuff like that.
It all sounds very obvious and familiar isn't it?
Well yes indeed! Everybody knows that right?
Everybody knows that everything has its pros and cons .Where there are advantages, there are disadvantages as well and all that crap!
It’s rightly been said that there is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path.
Let us talk about how smartphones affect the brain which is the core problem of all. Our brain gets used to what’s provided to it and there is an extension off the horizon and when our brain is not supplied with what’s provided before one feels low. Confused? Let’s consider an example:
Suppose we see an information on Facebook, then we scroll down we see another information then again we scroll down and so on. By doing this we keep feeding our brain with data almost every second which might seem like a wise thing to do. One would say, what is wrong in being informed or updated all the time? Well, the truth is a person might find the information useful but does not know when to stop and how much is too much. As a result, one gets trapped in the world of data and drifts away from the reason behind why he started searching for a particular info in the first place. This together with the fact that our brain is designed in a way to automatically search for things which are relaxing or we should rather say we have e natural affinity towards things which get us high. Getting high here means having a good time. So what happens is that people fall prey to it specially kids who have nowadays access to an internet device very easily. The problem occurs when the process continues for a long time. For example, it’s not a surprising thing that the moment one wakes up in the morning the first thing one reach out for is a cell phone. Also, one call it a day too after scrolling miles of the news feed on the cell phone screen. This obviously is not true for everybody but i bet its true for a major chunk people of today's generation. I will keep the topic of censorship away from here as it is in itself a nuclear of a topic and needs moral ethicists for proper interpretation.
So, the unending world of the web not just acts as a source of constant flow of data to the mind but also as an easy access to get the mind high. As a result, a person has access for getting the mind high sitting at home just by punching some letters. This in itself act as a door to get some more high and this keeps on going till one is done for the day. Next day happens the same and so on. Our mind is constantly preoccupied by the world of data which might have some sort of significance later on in life but it becomes a big problem to focus on things which actually matter in one's life at the very point of time. Some call it a distraction, some call it lack of concentration. All this leads to one's poor performance in the task which is the need of the hour because the mind constantly search for the high it had while surfing the internet, watching a YouTube video or chatting with buddies. One gets entertained so easily these days that he/she is not motivated to not have a good time for a period of time in order to get selected for a particular exam for instance. Because one does not remember or we should rather say one's mind does not know how to react when deprived of a constant flow of entertaining elements after getting used to days of constant supply (god save ones with years’ worth of it). One feels low working hard after that because that is the nature of the brain right? Quit a substance after heavy use, leave sleeping pills or other prescribed medics and the doctor will suggest to do it gradually over time reducing the dosage otherwise there will withdrawal symptoms of varying degree. . How can one give the same gradual treatment to the habit of something which he is not sure of whether or not it is an actual problem? And if it is when is the time to pull the plug? Is just calling it a subjective problem right?. . It is a big puzzle which can only be realized if one is in short 'not a kid'.
Kids are not going to understand because they are too young to even think anxiety or depression as anything close to real. The point is to realize that constantly searching the web through cell phones has become a habit which is something which is here to stay so it’s very important for us to address the cautions which are not going to be mentioned in the product manuals but are very real in nature.
Another string attached to smart phone addiction is the concept of text messages.
I am not talking about the addictive nature of texting here but why the practice of speaking or having a conversation over text messages has the potential to make things completely blown out of proportion and can play with the mind. The whole idea of intension and extension is not new to the linguists. What happens is that when there is a dialogue between the interlocutors, if it’s done verbally, the words which one speak to the other are uttered with a tone which acts as an aid to the words together making it easier for the listener to grasp or i should say interpret the intended meaning which the speaker is referring to. There might still be a conflict of the referring elements which is subjective to both the persons but still, the speaker has the best shot expressing himself (ignoring the body language). There is always going to be cases where the arguments are inevitable because the debaters might be partially referring to something and thinking it an absolute truth failing to realize that they might be referring to the same thing but in different contexts. (jaina's metaphysical doctrine of anekāntavāda).
Coming back to the problem, when people talk over text messages or chat, the words which are typed by the sender are grasped by the receiver with the intension which is not of the sender of the text but of the listener himself who is tricked by his own mind believing that what he just thought after reading the text is what the sender was referring to regardless of the fact that the sender might have a complete different story to tell. This is just like it’s said: "beauty lies in the eye of the beholder". What happens is that there is a miscommunication which leads to a chain of arguments which makes life difficult. Some people cling to these traps forever slipping into the limbo of the world of thoughts which they believe could be sorted out on chat or over text messages but even though such thoughts are not so important and exist in a virtual world. . They project themselves as far graver than they actually are which leads to unsettled expectations in the mind making it feel low.
In the mind one person makes an image and minutely plans it and expect it to happen in real life thereby expecting from others to comply and think the way one thinks and its obviously not going to work as two persons thoughts are not going to be alike or the minds are not going to have similar feelings simultaneously.
Although, the problem of texting might be categorized as a separate problem but its strings are attached to the whole idea of smart phone addiction for real. The basic idea of getting the mind used to something and getting it deprived of those things lead to a feeling of muscle contraction and discomfort is not new to us and in some cases, these are potential triggers to the demons of nothingness which reside in us all our lives. It’s just a matter of time these things will be addressed in a larger scale if at all it does. But we cannot ignore the surge in the cases of Depression.

!! LET US SET OURSELVES FREE FROM THE PRISONS OF OUR NON EXISTENT LABYRINTH AND STOP INFINITELY REGRESSING THE SHIT OUT OF US!
